Sloppy Guiseppe Pasta

Now, I personally believe that a sloppy guiseppe is the best pizza around so I decided to make it into a family friendly pasta dish and it's honestly one of the best things I've ever done!

Ingredients

  • 350g pasta such as rigatoni
  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 green pepper
  • A few chestnut mushrooms
  • 700ml passata
  • 100ml beef stock
  • 200g mozzarella
  • (dried chillies, optional)

How To Make It

  • Step 1.

Boil some pasta on the side, I'm using rigatoni here as that's what I had in the cupboard and I wanted to use a big pasta to catch the sauce.
  • Step 2.

In a pan brown around 500g of minced beef then set aside.
  • Step 3.

Then dice an onion and a few cloves of garlic and fry together for a few minutes along with a teaspoon each of dried basil and oregano.
  • Step 4.

Next dice a green pepper and a few chestnut mushrooms then add to the pan.
  • Step 5.

Pour over a 700ml bottle of passata and 100ml beef stock. Add the mince back in and simmer for 20 mins or so.
  • Step 6.

Next up add the drained pasta to the pan and stir in a ripped ball of mozzarella. Stir well then serve and lick the plate clean.
  • Step 7.

I added some dried chillies to the adult portions, if I wasn't cooking for little people I would have added a chopped chilli or two at the onion stage.

Serve & Enjoy
