- 1 kg combination of chicken thighs, legs, drumsticks
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 tablespoon dried sage or a handful of fresh sage leaves
- 1 dozen mushrooms
- 300g orzo
- 1 knob of butter
- 800ml chicken stock
- 1 lemon
- 1 head of broccoli
- 4 rashers of bacon
- A splash of cream
How To Make It
Step 1.Take around 1kg of chicken thighs, legs and drumsticks and brown them in a pan then remove. Dice an onion and cook for 3-4 mins in the same pot before adding in 3 cloves of crushed garlic. Add in some shredded fresh sage or a tablespoon of dried sage.
Step 2.Cook all together then thickly slice a dozen mushrooms and add to the pot. Pour in around 300g orzo and a knob of butter and mix well.
Step 3.Finally pour over 800ml chicken stick and the juice of one lemon and let bubble away for 40 mins until the chicken is cooked.
Step 4.About halfway through cooking add in some broccoli florets. Add In some bacon if you have any and a splash of cream would go down really well too.
