Gnocchi, Prawn, Pea and Halloumi One Pot

This is a real family favourite and a warming meal to wolf down. Frying gnocchi in herbs and butter makes it taste so much better than if you boil it. Plus you'll get gnocchi that's crispy on the outside, soft and creamy on the inside.

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1x 200g pack of fresh gnocchi
  • 1 jar of 500ml passata
  • 100g peas
  • 1 x 200g block of halloumi, grated
  • 2x knob of butter
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • 300g fresh prawns
  • Olive oil
  • Salt

How To Make It

  • Step 1.

    Fry the onion for a few minutes in a splash of olive oil with a pinch of salt.
  • Step 2.

    Add the basil and oregano, butter and gnocchi and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Step 3.

    Stir in the passata and peas and cook for 5 minutes then add the halloumi.
  • Step 4.

    In a separate pan, melt the butter and add the garlic followed by the prawns. Cook for 3 minutes until pink all the way through. Add the cooked prawns to the gnocchi and serve.

Prawns are little bites of protein that are so good for you. They’re also great for little fingers to nibble on. You’ve got some great calcium in the halloumi, vitamins in the peas and fibre from the gnocchi.
