#AD Parma Ham, Grilled Nectarines, Blue Cheese and Walnut Salad!
I’m delighted to be working with Parma Ham again and this time I wanted to share a summer recipe that you can enjoy with friends and family.
This is one of my favourite salads to eat as there’s just so many different tastes and textures going on. The smooth, salty Parma Ham, the sweet, creamy blue cheese, the crunchy walnuts and the juicy nectarines make this dish divine.
It’s also really easy to make. Slice the nectarines into pieces and cook in a hot grill pan for a few minutes each side. Meanwhile toast a handful of walnuts. Add both to the bowl along with a few handfuls of rocket and some cubed blue cheese. Tear some Parma Ham and arrange over the top.
Dressing wise I’m mixing 4 tablespoons of olive oil with 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar and 1 teaspoon of honey. Mix and add a pinch of salt.
Parma Ham, or Prosciutto di Parma, is a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) product, which is produced in the hills surrounding the town of Parma in the Emilia Romagna region of Northern Italy. The unique conditions in this region make it possible to produce the highest quality hams that have been appreciated by chefs and foodies for centuries. In fact, every stage of the production process must occur here – even the pre-sliced packs of Parma Ham available in most UK supermarkets are sliced in the area of origin.
